Jamie Ford's Headshot

As a briefing attorney, Jamie handles the tedious research and writing that goes into a client’s case behind the scenes. She is passionate about her clients and is a skilled legal writer. Jamie knows that a persuasive, well-pled court filing can make or break a case.

“Insurance companies will often try to overwhelm the other side with repetitive or burdensome court pleadings. It takes a very specific type of skill, resources, and knowledge to stand up to these kinds of tactics. That’s where I come in."

Biography

Jamie grew up in Arkansas, the youngest of three children. Her mother worked as a realtime court reporter for the federal court and inspired Jamie’s interest in the law early on.

Jamie studied English at Arkansas State University, where she graduated with honors in 2009. She graduated from William H. Bowen School of Law before pursuing an LL.M. in Federal Criminal Defense Litigation at California Western School of Law in San Diego.

Jamie spent eight years practicing criminal defense and plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation before making a shift to focus exclusively on legal writing in 2021. Jamie has practiced in Arkansas, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa, and has drafted various briefs, motions, and other pleadings for filing in jurisdictions all over the country. Now, Jamie uses her years of skilled legal writing to serve as a briefing attorney with Arnold & Itkin. Her primary role is to brief the court on a variety of complex legal issues that may come up once a client’s case goes into litigation. Jamie’s gift for thorough and persuasive research and writing is undeniably an asset to our clients.

Jamie now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband and their two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, traveling, and any time spent in nature or with family and friends.
