New Mexico Plant & Refinery Explosion Attorneys
It’s the nature of plant and refinery accidents to be devastating.
There’s inherent risk to working with certain chemicals and compounds. When refinery accidents do happen, they aren’t small—and they typically have more than one cause. As a result, such accidents have claimed the lives of hundreds of individuals and injured even more.
However, inherent risk can be (and is) mitigated through good safety policies and practices. After uncovering the cause of numerous major industrial accidents, we’ve traced the cause back to executive negligence again and again. At the end of the day, it takes dozens of people to keep a plant running. It takes systemic negligence to make it fall apart.
Burn Injuries from Plant & Refinery Explosions
The injuries suffered in a plant or refinery fire are often long-term. Burn victims often have to deal with lifelong scarring or disfigurement, and others with chronic pain. Some burn injuries are so severe that limbs have to be amputated; in the most extreme scenarios, these injuries can be fatal.
Repercussions of refinery explosions can include the following:

New Mexico's Nuclear Waste Accident
In 2014, a nuclear waste accident occurred in New Mexico that was described as a "horrific comedy of errors." Per preliminary reports, 30+ safety lapses occurred at the nuclear waste plant that led to the accident where a 55-gallon drum erupted. The drum had been buried more than 2,000 feet under the desert in a salt shaft and exploded radioactive foam on the local area. More than 20 workers were exposed to low-level radiation.
