A History of Drownings at Margaritaville Resorts
This isn’t the first time a drowning incident has occurred at a Margaritaville Resort; in fact, this isn’t the first drowning this month. Earlier in May 2022, a two-year-old drowned in the pool at the Margaritaville Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Last November, a 6-year-old girl drowned in the pool at the Margaritaville Resort in Lake Conroe, Texas. In 2019, a father and son lost their lives in the water at Margaritaville Lanier Islands; our attorneys are representing the boy’s mother, who tragically lost both her husband and child on the same day.
Resorts like Margaritaville are responsible for the safety of their guests and others who use their facilities. This is especially important when those resorts offer water features like pools or lakes. Warning signs aren’t enough; when resorts and hotels are negligent in providing sufficient supervision, their guests’ lives are put in danger, and sometimes lost.
Our hearts go out to the man’s family following this tragic incident.
