AI Recognized by National Law Journal in Top 100 Verdicts for 2021

The National Law Journal has recognized Arnold & Itkin in its list of Top 100 Verdicts for 2021. Our firm was included in the list for two separate verdicts: Casarez v. Taylor, a motor vehicle accident case, and Most v. Team Industrial Services Inc., which, at $222 million, ranked #9 on the list.

In Most v. Team Industrial Services, Attorneys Jason Itkin and Cory Itkin represented a woman who lost her husband in a horrific industrial accident in 2018. Our client’s husband lost his life after suffering severe burns all over his body from a release of superheated steam at the plant where he was working.

Upon investigating the incident, our team found that Team Industrial Services, a piping repair and maintenance company, was responsible for inspecting and modifying the valve that caused the steam release, and, ultimately, the death of our client’s husband. Records showed that Team Industrial knew of the faulty valve, but the company would not admit liability.

This was a case where the defendant refused to accept responsibility to the bitter end. We took Team Industrial Services to trial, presented our case, and made it clear to the jury that the defendant was accountable. The jury’s $222 million verdict was proof that they recognized Team Industrial Service’s failure to put safety first, causing our client’s husband to experience incomprehensible harm.
