Father on Fishing Trip Injured in Collision with Unseen Dredge Pipe
Attorneys Kurt Arnold and Trent Shelton of Arnold & Itkin have filed suit on behalf of a father of two who was injured when his boat struck a pipe being towed by two tugs.
Our client was enjoying a fishing trip off the coast of Louisiana when his boat collided with a dredge pipe that was being pulled between two tugboats. The pipe was not visible above the water, and the tugboat operators did nothing to warn our client that the pipe was there. As a result, our client was rendered unconscious and experienced serious head and leg injuries.
“The tugboat company utterly disregarded every rule and regulation applicable in this scenario,” said our attorneys in a statement. “To be pulling a 100-foot dredge pipe between 2 tugboats and have no warnings that the pipe is there is unsafe as it gets. We look forward to holding this defendant responsible for its actions that caused our client to sustain severe injuries.”
Our maritime injury lawyers filed this lawsuit in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.
