Offshore Worker Severely Injured in Personnel Transfer Basket Incident
Arnold & Itkin’s Jones Act lawyers recently filed suit on behalf of a Houston maritime worker who was severely injured while working in the Canary Islands.
The offshore worker got into a Billy Pugh basket at the worksite and woke up in the hospital after the crane operator dropped him. He suffered a brain injury, subdural hematoma, multiple skull fractures, a broken foot, and a broken wrist. He spent weeks in the hospital to recover.
Despite the nature of his injuries, our client’s employer, for whom he had worked for several years, tried to rush him back to work after treating him like he was faking it. Arnold & Itkin is proud to stand by his side throughout this endeavor.
“When a worker gets hurt, their company should take care of their employee, not treat them like the enemy. Arnold & Itkin is proud to be on the workers’ side, helping them get the treatment they need and the compensation they deserve,” our team said in a statement.
This suit was filed in Harris County, Texas.
