Jason Itkin Named 2025 “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers®

Arnold & Itkin is thrilled to announce that firm co-founder Jason Itkin has been named “Lawyer of the Year” in the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers® for Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions – Plaintiffs in Houston.

For decades, Best Lawyers has published an annual list of the most well-regarded and renowned legal practitioners in dozens of practice areas in every major metropolitan area of the country. Using a rigorous peer-review method, Best Lawyers seeks to “capture, as accurately as possible, the consensus opinion of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues” in each city and area of practice.

Former clients and colleagues are provided with surveys that ask a simple question: if you needed a lawyer (other than yourself), how likely would you be to refer it to the nominee? Then, each nominee is rated accordingly. The nominees with the highest scores represent the lawyers who have earned the most trust from clients and colleagues, which is a testament to their skill and results.

What It Means to Be Named “Lawyer of the Year”

Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” honorees are the individual attorneys who scored the highest in each practice area and metropolitan area. In other words, Jason Itkin received the highest score among Houston attorneys practicing mass tort litigation for plaintiffs.

Jason’s most recent mass tort litigation involves the weedkiller Roundup and its manufacturer Monsanto (now Bayer). Jason and his team won the largest Roundup verdicts in this litigation: $175 million verdict, followed by a record-setting $2.25 billion verdict.

Given the incredible results he’s won in the last year, “Lawyer of the Year” is a well-deserved honor. Our firm is grateful to the colleagues and peers who put Jason forward as this year’s recipient!
