Representing 3 Fishermen Injured Because of Two Companies’ Negligence
Arnold & Itkin’s maritime attorneys have filed suit on behalf of three fishermen in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. These men include a father, son, and a life-long friend of theirs, all three of whom are husbands and fathers. This trio has been fishing together for 30 years, but because of the negligence of two corporations which caused a preventable crash, our clients were left with debilitating injuries.
While these three men were driving their boat on the same canal where they’d been fishing for decades, they suddenly crashed into a pipe that was hidden just below the surface. This pipe had been recklessly abandoned by two companies who clearly didn’t care about the people who would inevitably run into the pipe. Our clients are now dealing with back, neck, and knee injuries.
An attorney on the case said, “These two companies recklessly disregarded human life when they decided to abandon that pipe, leaving it hidden in the water, waiting for someone to hit it. Our clients weren’t the only ones harmed by their callous actions—eight boats hit that hidden pipe in one day. We look forward to getting our clients the fair compensation they deserve.”
