A Houston-based energy company, Boardwalk Pipelines operates in the midstream of the natural gas industry by providing transportation and storage services for customers. In 2019, Boardwalk’s interstate pipeline network transported natural gas through nearly 14,000 miles of pipe across the Unites States. These pipelines originate in the Gulf Coast and spread throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. They also operate underground storage caverns with gas capacity upwards of 205 billion cubic feet and liquid capacity of 31.8 million barrels, located in Louisiana and Texas.
Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP, a subsidiary of Loews Corporation, reported about $8.6 billion in total assets and a gross revenue of $1.3 billion in 2016. While Boardwalk Pipelines is investing $480 million in multiple growth projects to be placed into service in 2022, the company has yet to put effective safety measures in place.
