Systemic Abuse at St. Mary’s Hall
In June of 2020, a pair of anonymous Instagram accounts were created. According to the first posts of these accounts, they were created to provide a “safe and inclusive place" for alumni and current students to share their stories of abuse and bullying at the school. One account was created for women to share their experiences, and the other account was created for black students to share theirs.
Since then, both accounts have posted stories that expose systemic occurrences of:
- Sexual abuse
- Racism
- Discrimination
- Bullying
- Verbal harassment
- And more
Arnold & Itkin Is Representing a Former SMH Student
Arnold & Itkin is currently representing a former SMH student who suffered from abuse and harassment. Her situation was made even more difficult by the fact that school officials failed to protect her, even after she reached out for help. Instead, the school ignored the situation, offered no punishments for those who perpetuated abuse, and fostered an atmosphere of cruelty.
We Demand Justice for Students
After reading the stories posted online by past and present SMH students, it’s obvious our client wasn’t the only person to suffer from this school’s dangerous atmosphere. We’re sending a powerful message to SMH that it’s time to take responsibility for the trauma inflicted on its students and stop this from happening to any other children at SMH.
If you’ve suffered from similar experiences at St. Mary’s Hall, help from our team is free and private. Call us at (888) 493-1629.
