My name is Tinisha Thomas. I needed Arnold & Itkin because my husband was on the El Faro ship. So I ended up calling them when the ship sunk. My husband, Anthony Shawn Thomas was amazing. He did 10 years in the Navy prior to becoming a merchant seaman. He was a provider.
He was just a really outgoing, hard working person who took care of his family. There was a lot that changed in my life because he wasn’t there anymore. Part of my life left.
I did a lot of research. I was trying to find one of the best maritime lawyers. I kept searching, I kept searching, then I kept praying, and I kept praying, and God just kept leading me to their website. No matter what I put in, it was back to them, back to them. I was like, “Okay, Lord. I hear.” I read a lot of their testimonials they had on their website and a lot of their victories they had won. I was just led by God to go with them.
Once they came here, they pretty much told me, they just wanted me to get back focusing on trying to continue living my life without the lawsuit going on. They just wanted me to focus back on my family and just having that peace in life. They told me they were pretty much going to handle everything, I wasn’t going to have to worry about anything—which they held up to that. Just knowing that they were going to do everything that they could to make sure that they find out the truth, to make sure we were taken care of for life. Just seeing that they actually cared, and I truly believed that they actually cared and wanted the best for the families. They didn’t just think you were a number. They actually care.
I think they care so much because they didn’t want this to happen to any another family. I feel like everyone knew that this shouldn’t have happened. It was just foolish for it to happen. I just feel like they didn’t want it to happen to any another family. I just want to say thank you to Kurt and Arnold & Itkin for representing my family to the fullest. Everyone was just so nice at the firm. Anything I needed, they were there. I just want to say thank you for caring so much about my family and the other ladies that the firm represented as well.
