You’ve had this huge discovery of oil and gas reserves in West Texas. I mean, it’s giant. The oil and gas can be drilled much more cheaply than you can, say, drilling offshore. And so there’s been a rush to drill.
So in West Texas, it’s been a huge boom, but it’s with a lot of pain. Oil prices are up: they throw as many rigs out there, and throw crews together that have never worked together, a lot of times on equipment that’s really outdated. Prices go down: they fire everybody. They stack the land rigs.
And the problem with that is you don’t have the continuity of safety. The culture is missing.
What’s happened is that the companies are cutting every corner imaginable so that they can make more money. I mean, it is really bad out there.
As a result, there are too many serious incidents, and sadly, when people get hurt very badly on land rigs in West Texas, the companies are taught to try to cover up the incidents. And so, it’s important that you get us involved quickly. Because I guarantee you, the first call that they made was to their company lawyer, and he was on site.
They’re taking action because they’re aggressive.
And there’ll be a giant insurance company that is working behind the scenes to make sure that you don’t recover anything. It’s our mission to make sure that the people that they have hurt, the families whose lives they’ve destroyed, that they’re taken care of. And that we do right by them to help them put things back together again.
It’s very awesome to have the different smiles on each one of their face when I tell them, “Good news: You’re gonna be taken care of for the rest your life. And let me walk you through it.”
And so here’s the thing: we have the best track record in the United States taking on these giant companies and winning. We’ve taken them on, we’ve beaten them. We know how to do it, and we will do it again.
